A trio of books finished while continuing with the Sherlock Holmes collection.

Alan Bennett’s The Uncommon Reader is a charming, short novel imagining that the Queen develops a passion for reading, leading to her neglecting her public duties.

Blackbirds by Chuck Wendig is a very violent roller-coaster of a story about a woman who can foresee the death of anyone she touches. I think I may re-read this just for the adventure!

I read Fold by Tom Campbell in just over a day. Five men meet each month for a game of poker and gradually the competition and tensions unfold. A man’s book I would say and better appreciated with a little knowledge of the game. Great fun.
