David Foenkinos’s The Erotic Potential of My Wife was bought solely for its title! It’s a very odd and humorous novel about obsession and love. I nearly gave up but gradually I warmed to it and at a mere 150 pages is worth persevering to the end. If you can handle the bizarre, it’s worth a read! The book contains some gems and I particularly liked the following:
“You should always look at the nails of the woman you sleep with”. [This was said of a husband as a result of his wife discovering the scratch marks down his back!]
“Women always manage to stay on course during the chronic drifting of men“
