In Summer House With Swimming Pool by Herman Koch there aren’t any nice people, but don’t let that put you off!
The main character is a doctor who has an unfortunate disregard for the health of his patients. This attitude makes for some very funny, and sometimes informative, reading.
This is a story about family life and some serious contemporary issues. I was enjoying the book so much that I raced through the last 150 pages until well beyond midnight. Recommended.
