In 2009 (before I began blogging!) we travelled to New Zealand for a touring trip around South Island. On the morning of our return flight to Sydney we came across the Yaldhurst Car Museum which was close to Christchurch airport. I particularly liked the extremely rundown vehicles, presumably waiting to be restored, but there was so much else to see including classic cars and old printing machines. What a curious museum! Now, 17 years later, it would appear that this private museum may no longer be on the go. The somewhat disappointing website (www.yaldhurstmuseum.co.nz) says it’s currently closed. I haven’t been able to find anything on the web as to the museum’s status but I would be interested to know.
