• “I rescued an injured baby squirrel from a cat in our back garden many years ago. I took a large upturned plastic swing top bin, and eventually (2 hours) managed to corner it and carefully lower the bin over it to trap it. Then carefully slid a piece of board underneath the bin. Then carefully tuned it right way up whilst holding bin and board tightly together. Final step – replace board lid with a strong sack, tied on with rope. I then took it to the animal hospital in Leatherhead, where after four days of care it was well enough to be released into the wild.”
