No plastic flowers in this cemetery in Cheam Village!
On a dreadfully cold, dank and drizzly day there’s not much scope for taking pictures. But a walk through the back lanes of Epsom up to the Downs brought me to the cemetery, via the pub (for coffee!). Perhaps grey days are the most appropriate days for a cemetery but I was shocked to see how having bright, lurid plastic flowers on graves appears to be the norm these days. I can’t say I approve! I like to see graves untended and rotting as well as with real flowers, whether wilted or fresh. A cemetery should reflect ageing and remembrance (or not) – plastic flowers are a denial of this.
Well anyway, I spend far more time manipulating images than taking them, and this is the result.
