2nd February 2026 – I could have drowned

Towards the end of a walk I was nearly trapped by an overflowing River Mole at Leatherhead. I came across a section where the path was partially covered. I continued on and came across a section that was completely flooded. I loitered, took a few pictures and then looked at my map to see what alternative path I could pick up. I turned back and when I got back to the partially flooded section I found it was even more flooded. If I had dawdled longer I may have been wading through a flooded path. Not dangerous but certainly wet!!
