Another grey day in Scarborough, hence the sixty minute bus ride to the charming market town of Pickering. The trip takes you round the houses, over country roads and through attractive villages. The village of Hutton Buscel (I call it Darcey Bussell!) is a particular favourite of mine.
There’s a decent second-hand bookshop in Pickering, though for the second time I could find nothing to tempt me. A little further along the road is the rather nice Elizabeth Botham’s Tea Rooms. And, of course, there is the steam railway just opposite.
Back to Scarborough for a late lunch at Seven Coffee Shop and then to trawl, without success, the second-hand bookshops.
All pictures taken with the iPhone, the last one being of Scarborough.
