Faking it in 2021

On our walk around the golf course
it would have been nice if it had looked like this
On the way back
we saw this lovely garden

Bushy Park

It was well over a month since we last saw the little people and what a glorious morning it was for a walk with them in the beautiful Bushy Park.

Don’t jog in the fog

I guess that at my age I’m always likely to get warnings about things I shouldn’t attempt. “Be careful crossing the road”, “Don’t overdo it”.

At the start of my 10 mile walk on a cold, misty morning, I’m warned that joggers are told not to jog in the fog. Something to do with being bad for your chest. I think the relevance to my walk was that I shouldn’t overexert myself in the fog (or mist), particularly at my age. The trouble is, I’m not very receptive to warnings.

The walk has become a favourite of mine and today I decided to do it in the reverse direction and it just seemed like I was doing a new walk. Views that would be behind me were now in front of me, and most of the steep bits seemed to be downhill rather than uphill. So this will probably become the preferred direction when I next do this particular walk.

An early morning walk

An early start on a sunny morning for my often walked 6 miles. Through the woods, past the prison, around or over the golf course, through the park with its many dog walkers, and then more paths on the edge of the woods.

Beachy Head, again (day 6)

Today was another beautiful day so we both walked to Beachy Head – I only did the same walk yesterday, but what a walk it is!
