We started the day with porridge. Big flakes of oats in a small dish – with syrup. When I was a kid my mum would serve up a large plate of smooth porridge such that the edges would cool down quickly and form a sort of skin – and we added far more syrup than would be advisable these days.
Just before the new series of Beck begins, this firework was captured out the window.
And after more than 40 days…
the rain came
There was no wind.
The kid looked disappointed.
The games in the park were brought to an end with a tug-of-war.
There was a hailstorm, but you can’t tell this from the picture!
Like in the sixties film Blow-Up, if you look carefully you can see something that wasn’t apparent when the picture was taken. (Don’t get excited – it’s not very exciting!)
I’m not sure if this an accurate representation of the striking night sky, but it’s the best I could do. And no, there was no rain or storm.
